Cleaning Up Government

Government is supposed to work for the people — not corporate donors, lobbyists, or politicians who treat public office like a get-rich-quick scheme. For too long, corruption and insider dealing have blocked real progress and drained trust from our democracy.

The Affordability Crisis

Families in Mississippi are being squeezed from every direction — groceries, rent, utilities, healthcare — while giant corporations rake in record profits. This isn’t inflation by accident. It’s a rigged system that rewards monopolies and punishes working people.

Voting Rights and Democracy

Democracy only works when everyone can participate freely, safely, and fairly. Congressman Thompson was the only House Democrat to vote against Democrats’ top voting-rights bill, the For the People Act; Evan will support that legislation without reservation.

Good-Paying Jobs

Mississippi workers are some of the hardest-working people in the country — but too many jobs don’t pay enough to live. Wages are low, unions are under attack, and corporations hold all the power. Evan believes workers deserve dignity, bargaining power, and fair pay.

Crumbling Infrastructure (Water, Wi-Fi, and Roads)

From Jackson’s water crisis to rural broadband deserts across the Delta, MS-02 has been left behind for decades. Congressional seniority has not delivered clean water, reliable internet, or safe roads.

Healthcare Access

No one in the richest country on Earth should die because they can’t afford care — yet Mississippi leads the nation in maternal and infant mortality. That is a moral failure. Healthcare is a human right.

Investing in Education

Education should open doors — not trap students in debt or underfunded schools. Mississippi’s children and teachers deserve better. Evan believes education is the most powerful long-term investment we can make.

Criminal Justice Reform

America incarcerates more people than any country on Earth — and Black communities pay the highest price. Justice should be about safety, dignity, and second chances — not punishment for profit.

New-Age Threats: Big Tech, Social Media and AI

Unchecked corporate power isn’t just raising prices — it’s reshaping our economy, our democracy, and our kids’ mental health. Big Tech and AI must serve people, not exploit them.

Agriculture and Food

Agriculture is a key sector of Mississippi’s economy, and our government has failed to protect our farmers and ranchers from exploitative corporate businesses and failed to ensure Mississippians have healthy food options.
